Infatuated with my Feet

I admire my feet sometimes.  But only in these low heels.  They fit just right now.  I've lost 15 to 16 pounds as of last night.

I like seeing my ankles.  I like seeing the tendon (?) that leads to my big toe.  The photos I tried did not look good.  :-)
Mainly, because my big calf (no, not a baby cow) was in with my foot.

As I lose the weight my feet are what I can see results in.  Yes, I feel results elsewhere.  I know my upper body is smaller because I've had to go back 1 or 2 hooks on all my bras.  Even my wrists are a little smaller because my FitBit is loose.  And I've lost some in my face because I see shapes now - my BFF had to tell me they were my cheekbones.  :-)

I've still got a long way to go to get to my goal.  But I know I can reach it!

NS - During and Post Thanksgiving

I did my walks.  .7 miles twice a day with 2 dogs each time.

Thursday I ate dinner with David and Dad, but I had NS Vegetarian Chili and they had leftovers.  It was good, but I had no idea what to put down for calories.  And I did taste it the day before - chicken, beans, corn, rice, and spices all in the crock pot.

Friday's dinner was a Boca Burger (vegetarian) at Frank & Lola Love Pensacola.  Bland because it wasn't the spicy bean like I have at home, but they grilled it.  I also had them put hummus on it, but next time I'll ask for the spicy hummus.  Side of green beans and squash.  I got hungry later in the night and the bartender was kind enough to get me a small bowl of the mixed fruit they put out for the breakfast buffet.  :-)

Today I did 7 laps around the building since I missed this morning due to a doctor's appt. (mammo).  I'll try to do another 7 later this afternoon.

I've been fighting fatigue since Saturday.  Sunday I did some yard work in the morning and walked Cody and Adele a little over 1 mile.

Cheese tortellini for today's lunch - very yummy.

I'm still at 237 though I swear my chest area and gut (food baby) have shrunk a bit.

NS - Short road trip and how I packed

Thanksgiving - the time most folks in the US stuff their faces with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, veggies (maybe), and pumpkin or pecan or apple pie.  And have leftovers of all that the following day.

I won't be doing any of that.  And I'm very glad about it.

It'll be 3 of us plus 9 dogs so no need for all that major cooking especially since none of us are big eaters at this time.  (That's not counting the dogs - they'll eat anything.)

So packing for my weekend - I called Frank & Lola Love Pensacola Beach, the restaurant in Margaritaville where Dad plays every Friday night, and talked to the Head Chef.  I'll be able to eat dinner with Dad and David.  :-)

Talked to Dad about what they have at the house so I don't have to pack my snacks.  I am bringing hummus since I have a big tub of it, my V8, and my decaf coffee.  I saved a box from my first shipment of NS and put my meals for the weekend in there.  Though we might have turkey dogs for dinner tomorrow.  :-)

I'll be a little off schedule because I'm supposed to only have 1 flex dinner once a week.  But I figure if I don't go over my 1200 calories for the day, I'll be ok.

Luckily, I'm not flying anywhere.  I don't know how great this would go packing meals, clothes, etc. and flying.

I'll still be able to walk at least twice a day.  And with 9 dogs I won't have a problem finding a buddy to go with me.

I did not enter the meals into NuMi.  I wasn't that organized about this.

My weight is still at 237.  I'm up to 5 times around the building 3 times a day at work.  And 2 blocks 3 times a day on weekends.  Roughly 1.5 miles walking at 2 to 3 mph.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Depression or a screwed up thyroid or both?

Before you start thinking you have depression, please get a complete blood panel done by your regular doctor.  Not a pysch - at least not in Florida.  Unfortunately, in several areas of this state they don't follow the dictionary's definition of their calling.  Instead they dispense pills, no actual counseling.

Describe to your general practitioner what your symptoms are.  The blood panel will show if your thyroid levels are off.

And don't beat yourself up.  I'm lazy or I've always been heavy or I can't lose weight or I'm a restless sleeper - none of that.

If you wake up tired, suddenly get very tired in the middle of the day, feel no motivation - all that can be your thyroid.

My doctor did a blood panel on me a year ago and mentioned that a 3 month followup would be a good idea since my thyroid showed (I think) higher than normal levels.  I blew it off until a year later when I went in for my pap and doctor had me go get the panel done again.

That's when the problem showed even more.  The day the nurse talked to me about hypothyroid I got a thyroid panel done and an ultrasound of my thyroid done.

I will definitely be put on medicine.  But there is also the chance of a biopsy and surgery.

The good news in all this - once we get the medicine for my thyroid worked out, we'll be able to decrease the dose of my antidepressant.  And I will see faster weight loss!

So please don't rush to be put on happy pills.  Get blood work first.  There is a chance that it's not all in your head.  <3

NS 11/17/17 - Bar Bar

Coming to the last 5 days or so of my first month.  And I have bars!

Breakfast is chewy chocolate chip granola bar and almonds.  Would love a glass of milk with this bar.  :-/

The last of my vanilla shake.  Tomorrow back on chocolate.  I should have tried one with the 2 mixed together.  Maybe when my next shipment comes in.

Lunch is a fudge graham bar.  There I times when I feel like I'm cheating on my new eating habits.  The food is so good.

Apple and peanut butter for snack.

The bars are really good so it's not big deal that I have a lot of them this week.

Didn't walk this morning yet.  Screaming headache is gone, but both sides of my back below my shoulder blades were really bothering me yesterday and last night.  I will walk after my 8:30 class.

I scanned everything I eat in my house last night into NuMi.  They don't do servings by tbsp which is a pain.  But I was able to get all my stuff in with accurate nutritional information.  And I can now either scan it or just look at my Favorites to log it.  :-)

10 minutes logged point .45 miles.  Woot!

10 more minutes and forgot my FitBit since it's the same walk I do every time - it'll be .45 miles.
:-p

No 3rd walk due to a meeting.  Which is fine.  Went grocery shopping after work for veggies and Milo with Stevia.

I swear my body screamed in delight when I ate my first baby carrot of the day.

Dinner is bean bolognese and it is delicious.

Got my next shipment of food.  It doesn't appear to be anything new so I won't be posting daily any longer.

I was really hoping they put my bear in that box, but nope.  :-)

I will post if I do get a new food item and when I weigh myself.

Dessert is chocolate chip cookies!

21 calories under my allowed 1200 - WOOT!

NS 11/16/17

Woke up groggy and a little congested.  But once I got moving my energy came back.

Almost forgot to pack my almonds for my morning power fuel.  :-)

Did my 4 morning laps around the building.  FitBit software is not linking with the Bit properly.  It says I've done .4 miles in 0 minutes.  -_-

Breakfast was a harvest nut bar plus my almonds.

Vanilla shake around 10.

Lunch is home style chicken soup.

And my apple and peanut butter in the afternoon.

Hoping for 2 more 4 lap walks around the building today.  With the FitBit behaving this time.  Grrrr!!!

Bout of fatigue today.  First time since I've started NutriSystem.  I wanted so badly to not walk at all.  Then I told myself I'd do 2 laps and nap.  The on lap 2 I told myself I'm 1/2 way done, I'll just do the full 4.

At least I know why the fatigue happens.  Was really hoping my doctor could get me started on the thyroid meds this week.

Did another 4 laps.

Cheese ravioli in meat sauce - so delicious!

Evening snack is apple pecan bites.

I'll be 27 calories under my limit today.  :-)

NS 11/15/17

Sweetened o's cereal is very good.

I didn't do my morning walk.  But I will walk after my first class, then at lunch, and again after my 2:30.

4 times around the building.  And I've disconnect FitBit from NuMi.  I'd rather enter it manually from FitBit since (IMHO) FitBit is more accurate with calories burned.

4 more times around the building.  Carrot nibbling.  White cheddar mac & cheese.  It's so good!

It's easy to want to wallow in my own self pity.  Just be miserable about learning my thyroid is screwed up and Mort has a heart murmur.  But I'd rather put that energy toward healing and keeping my new habits.

14 pounds is not something I want back on my body.

Forgot my apple for my afternoon snack, so I walked up to the gas station and got one there.  Nice brisk walk.

I will attempt another four times around the building after my 2:30 class.

Got my 3rd walk in.  :-)

Tuscan inspired pasta is delicious!!  I hope they send that every month.

White cheddar popcorn is my evening snack.

That puts me about 21 calories over what I'm supposed to have.  Not concerned, but next month I'll be better with my math.

I'm also getting better with the app.  I've already loaded in tomorrow's stuff that I'll be eating at work.  And added items with bar codes that weren't in there.

Now to scope out the menu at Frank & Lola Love Pensacola Beach to see what they have that I can eat.  Can't remember if Dad plays there the Friday after Thanksgiving or not.

NS 11/14/17

Had errands early this morning and stupidly did not take breakfast with me or eat it prior.  By 9 I was not feeling so great.

Got home and ate a cinnamon streusel muffin that was fantastic.

Grabbed water, my turbo shake, and lunch, and went back out again.  Drank water any time I could, drank shake while having a bunch of questions asked to me so I could get an ultrasound of my thyroid done.

Ate lunch on my way home from stopping at doctor to let nurse know what I saw on the ultrasound.

Lunch was a double chocolate caramel bar.

Took Cody on my first walk which was the 2 blocks.

Taught a class which I missed my mid day snack.

Then walked Cesar on my second round of 2 blocks.

Allegedly I want .99 miles in 23 minutes.

Dinner is the yummy veggie burger with one slice of bread!!  I'll drink 3 servings of V8 to get in most of my veggie servings.

Today was supposed to be a relaxing day off, but it turned into not being that.  :-/

I put hummus on my burger since I skipped my snack.

Chocolate cake for evening snack.  Delicious!!

I'm still about 400 calories under my 1,200 for the day.  Something I won't make a habit of doing  because I have a screaming headache right now and I'm exhausted.

NS - 11/13/17

My 2nd favorite breakfast!  The 170 calorie double chocolate muffin!!  First favorite is eggs and hummus.  Which is ridiculously high in calories.  And a boiled egg is 12 calories lower than a fried egg.  I wonder if they're assuming you put something in the pan to fry the eggs....hmmm

Did some research and that's exactly why!  Since I don't use anything when I fry my eggs (it's a non-stick skillet) I'm going to change those days to say boiled instead of fried.

And I was able to add egg, medium, boiled at 68 calories to the list o' food.  After updating yesterday - I was 100 calories UNDER.  Which makes me feel a lot better.

Walked around the building once and then to the gas station to get my banana for lunch.

I so love waking up rested and happy!

2 more sessions of walking around the building.  Total per FitBit 1.51 miles in 36 minutes.  Had Brandi with me on my last session.  She let me know what I was eventually going to ask about the 24 hour gym that's nearby.  It does have showers and it's only $15 month.  I'll be using it starting late fall till late spring.

Banana and almonds for lunch.  Already ate all my baby carrots.

NuMi app does not take all info from FitBit.  Example, FitBit has me at 1.59 miles, 1,189 Calories, 36 minutes, 3,814 Steps.  NuMi app - 334 Calories, 36 minutes, 3,814 Steps.  So for some crazy reason, it knocks the calories WAY down.  I think I shall research this. :-p

Research found nothing because I got distracted with all the complaining that was going on.  Another theory of mine - NuMi doesn't pull all the FitBit info.  It leaves out the most important part!  The calories burned.

Dinner was the Italian Herb Pizza (assembly required).  I've had it before, but tonight I used the microwave instead of the oven.  It's better from the oven.

Shortbread cookies for dessert and I'm still under 1200 calories for the day!

Vanilla shortbread cookies are friggin delicious!

David - Corrected

I was amazed and grateful how my older brother handled Ma's death.  I was also relieved that he was with Dad.

My brother has rectal cancer.  I can't remember when they told me.  But David reminded me that it was after Ma died.

He's on chemo and radiation.  He's got a port in his chest.  The poison is hard on his body as anyone knows that's had this done or had a relative deal with this.  It's torn up his throat so that about all he can tolerate is room temperature water.  It's also done damage to his tongue, mouth, and lips.  Imagine your whole bottom lip covered with a scab like it's healing from a severe sunburn.

Through all this he's stayed positive and energetic.  Still has that weird sense of humor.  :-)
Still has that mischievous shine in his eyes.

I took the photo when I visited with them yesterday.

NS - Day 17

I may stop doing numbers and just do NS and the date.  I don't want it to sound like a punishment or prison sentence.

Breakfast was 2 medium eggs over semi-hard and hummus.

Took a very brisk walk around the block with my 2 oldest.  Little buggers love walking fast!

Vanilla shake at 10.

I downloaded the mobile app to my iPad.  It does look like I can scan their food which is excellent.  I also tied my FitBit to the app for easier activity recording.

Not paying attention again.  Crap.  Sesame Ginger Chicken for lunch.  It was fantastic.  But it was also very high in calories - 250 I think.

Which means I’ll be over today.  I only have 38 left and there is no dinner that low.  Plus, my evening snack.  So this next week will be 2 times around the block.  Adele gets to go with me this time.

Longer walk instead of going around block twice, I went around 2 blocks total.

And a new goal for me - doing this for one full week without screwing it up.

That Sesame Ginger Chicken was a dinner, not a lunch.  -_-

So dinner will be the chicken noodle soup lunch.  *sigh*

It feels good to walk.  Though my back did start to hurt a little about 2/3 done with the walk.

Chocolate covered pretzels - so very delicious!

Cleaned living room fan and did dishes.  Packed meals for tomorrow.

Saturday, November 11, 2017

NS - Day 16 a good fail

Breakfast was 2 tbsp almonds and apple cinnamon oatmeal with 1/2 cup 2%.  I couldn't finish the oatmeal.  NS tells you to finish your meals if possible.  But I really couldn't.  I managed 1/2.

Once I update everything, I'll get dressed, do a walk around the block then head to Dad's with my shake, lunch, and apple.  I figure he'll let me have some of the peanut butter he and David use for Maggie's pills.  :-)

Drank my shake on the way to Pensacola.

Lunch was cheese tortellini and was yummy.  I do prefer a lot less sauce then NS and most instant foods use.

Snacked on baby carrots with Dad during my visit.

Apple and peanut butter for my snack.

Dinner was supposed to be a veggie burger.  But I got distracted with dogs, making coffee, showing off my 2 new plants to Nikki, that I suddenly found myself looking at instructions for a pot pie before I remembered I was supposed to have a burger.

The pot pie was very good even with the peas!  :-)

Tall glass of V8 and pretzels for my night time snack.

Plugged my FitBit in to charge it.  I'll start wearing it daily.  Supposedly, I can pair it to NuMi.  While the idea of the program is good - it's very.....amateurish.  They could have made the mobile app capable of scanning the bar code of their food to automatically log it in.  The search feature doesn't put their food first.  If you search through the whole list, it's not alphabetical.  Based on the reviews I won't be putting it on my phone.  I access it via PC.

Thoughts about Ma

I think about her every day.  Just like I think about my daughter every day.  Of course the thoughts are different.

I still have the urge to pick up my phone to call Ma on my way home from work.  And my chest gets tight when I remember I can't.

I still want to put a mini red rose plant near her ashes.  One day I'll find one and be able to do that.

I wonder what Thanksgiving and Christmas will be like without her.  She liked decorating the house and yard for both.  Well, Dad and David did the outside.  Not really sure who did everything on the inside.  But I know Ma liked it.  :-)

I see her in my mind dancing to Dad playing her favorite song on pan - Sarah.  To hear this song from a full pan band - https://youtu.be/RfDlXxHmg7U

NS - Day 15 (I think)

Woke up at 510am - an hour earlier than normal to be ready for a furry house guest.  I felt rested and had no problem getting up.

Breakfast is almonds and a peanut butter granola bar.

Since I got to work so early I'm eating first then walking.

Work friend offered me bacon and then laughed when I pulled out my book to see if I was allowed to have it.  Nope.  :-)
Then looked online - 1 slice 44 calories.  Nope.

I don't think I like my scale.  All of them that were available came in .2 increments which is ridiculous to me.  I've farted and lost .2 pounds before.  Do people actually celebrate that .2 pound loss?  And then get devastated when it mysteriously shows up the next day or the next week?

This breakfast bar is good.  Can't remember if I've had it before.

Morning vanilla shake.

Lunch was 3 cheese chicken pasta.  It would have been lots better had I not put too much water in.

Apple and peanut butter for snack.

Meatballs in marinara sauce for dinner.  So good!

I registered on NS's Nu Mi site today.  Because I want a damn bear.  They give you a bear for each goal that you reach.  1 more pound (I've lost a pound between Wednesday and today.) and I get my first bear!  Yes, it's sounds silly, but it's cool that they do that.  The site on a PC is horribly buggy.  It's slow and a pain in the ass to find/search for the food I've eaten.  The lists aren't in alphabetical order and they don't have it sub-categorized by breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack.  I'm leery about downloading the mobile app on my phone.  So I'm going to try it on my iPad.

What I found in loading my journal into Nu Mi is that the meals vary from 120 up to 270 calories.  No, I didn't figure that out until I loaded all of them in at one time.  Since I quit putting the calories here.

So I will have to sort my food so that each day is closer to 1200 calories instead of having days that are 100 over or 70 under.  I love math puzzles!

Golden pound cake for evening snack.  Very tasty!  Before I chose it I looked at how many calories available.

I won't get all 4 servings of veggies in.  If I did, I'd be over my 1200.

Thursday, November 9, 2017

NS - 2 week mark!

I made it 4 times around the building!  I did 2 very brisk laps and then 2 cool down laps.  Even though it's beautifully cool outside, I'm still sweating a bit.  But I got my heart rate up and it felt good to be walking.

Breakfast is 2 tbsp of almonds and apple strudel breakfast bar.  Man, that was delicious!!!

Co-worker friend opened my office window for me, so I'm getting some cool air in.  :-)

It's going to be a great day!!

4 more laps around the building!

The shakes are so fricking delicious.

Lunch is a loaded mashed potato.  Had it before.  It's, of course, yum.

Apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter for my afternoon snack.

Fiesta mac & cheese for dinner with V8.  The mac & cheese is very good!

I tend to do 'hard' stuff first, get it out of the way.  That's why I ate the tuna casserole the day I spotted it and it's also why I ate an oatmeal cookie with raisins when I spotted it.

Raisins don't belong in anything but a box.  I don't like them mixed in anything.

The cookie didn't suck.  That's the best compliment I can give.

It would have been phenomenal if it didn't have raisins.

Wednesday, November 8, 2017

NS - Ummmm Day Whatever :-)

3 times around the building before breakfast!  I would have gone for a fourth, but sweat.  Ick.

Granola cereal for breakfast with 1/2 cup milk, plus another 1/2 to total up my required power fuel.

Shake at 9:45 or so.

Love those shakes!  So very yummy.  I walked around the building twice briskly.  Wanted to go for 3, but I'm wearing leggings and again, don't like to sweat then come into the office.  Ick.  :-)

Lunch is cheddar broccoli rice.

Snack is apple and peanut butter.

I'll update again after lunch in case for some odd reason it's not edible.  LOL

Lunch was good!  But I should have put a bit more water in it.  I'm feeling hyper so I'm off for another walk around the building.

I had a feeling I didn't lose any weight this week.  I was still hoping for a pound.  I didn't gain any.  So will go with that as a positive.

Bought a tablespoon cup and I've been WAY overdoing the peanut butter.  :-)

Scale that I bought tonight is almost 2 pounds over what my doctor's scale is.  I'm glad I was able to weight myself on both the same night so I'd have this knowledge.

Flat bread pizza for dinner (assembly required).

It would have been very easy to pout about no weight loss.  But Nurse Kim gave me a pat on my arm and said I was doing good and that I am getting leaner.  :-)

Chin up!

Got distracted and didn't snack till 9.  Oops!  Chocolate caramel bar.  Yummers!

Tuesday, November 7, 2017

Day 12 NS

Banana nut muffin for breakfast plus a hard boiled egg.  The muffin was so yummy!  So was the egg, but it's not an NS egg so it's not like anyone reading this would really care that a hard boiled egg is good.

Did not walk this morning because I have a class at 8 and I wanted to have everything ready for it.  I'll be able to work after the class.

Also, I checked the NS site and I don't have to do the 30 minutes of activity all at one time.  Which I wasn't, I just wanted to make sure it's OK.  :-)

2 1/2 times around the building.  Yeah, me.  Sweating - ick.

Lunch is black beans and rice.  Very delicious with a slight kick.

Afternoon snack is apple and peanut butter!!!  Woot!!

Mushroom risotto for dinner.  It was so very good!

Honey mustard pretzel bits for my snack.

I haven't decided if I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow or wait till my appointment in a week.

I didn't get to walk again at work, but I did spend over 30 minutes wandering around my little kitchen getting tomorrow's meals ready.

Monday, November 6, 2017

Day 11 NS - Oops

Last night I brewed my coffee, but totally forgot about it while reading a book.  Found it this morning still on.  Oh well.

I have work coffee in the freezer now.  :-)

Walked to the gas station and got a banana for my lunch or afternoon snack.  Haven't decided which yet.

Almonds and a whole grain cinnamon bun for breakfast.  It's good, but so tiny compared to Cafe Liquid's cinnamon buns!

I also wanted to walk around the building twice on my way back from the gas station, but sweating stopped that  quickly.  Winter needs to hurry the hell up and get here.

I've walked twice around the building at lunch and again on my afternoon break.

Vanilla shake mid-morning.

Lunch was make my own - banana and almonds.  :-)  I like both so it was easy.

Mid afternoon snack was a hard boiled egg and multi grain bread.  Plus one Werther's coffee flavored candy which is 17.5 calories.

And, of course, the always present baby carrots to nibble on.

Looked over at my shelf o' food and saw tuna casserole.  I am not a fan.  So I decided to eat it tonight and get it over with.  It's edible.  For people that like tuna casserole it's probably quite delicious.

I also stayed in the kitchen until the coffee was done.  So everything is ready for tomorrow.

Snack is double chocolate peanut butter cookies.  So very delicious!!

NutriSystem - Stuff You Might Not Want To Know

Your first week you might feel hungry.

I didn't, but you might.

Your second week you'll feel full a lot of the time.  I can't imagine drinking any more water than I already do.

You'll pee a lot.  That's if you don't already drink a lot of water.

You'll poop a lot.  Not quantity, frequency.  I go at least twice a day now.  And it's not the gut wrenching explosive you ate crap food kind.  It's more like, hey, you're eating fiber!

You have to eat on a schedule.  Mine only varies slightly on the weekend.
Weekdays - breakfast 7:30, shake 10, lunch noon, snack 3, dinner 5:30, snack 7:30
Weekends - breakfast 8:30, shake 10, lunch noon, snack 3, dinner 6, snack 8

I don't do my 4 servings of veggies with meals.  I spread them out snacking through the day.  Baby carrots are easy to carry and nibble on.  Then I drink a V8 at dinner or with my evening snack.

I have a reflux.  It's only been slightly annoyed at night.  Mainly because of the V8, I'm sure.  Nothing like before I started this new eating plan.  It is quite unhappy in the mornings.  If I try to eat breakfast, I ended up having a coughing fit.  So I'll eat a baby carrot or 2 in an attempt to give my stomach something to think about before breakfast.

You get a book of food suggestions for restaurants.  That will definitely help when I travel.

If you have a family, NutriSystem might be a difficult thing for you.  Especially if you're the one that does the meal planning for everybody else.  It won't be impossible, but you will need the support of your family members/house mates.

If you just want to lose a couple pounds to fit into that dress, NutriSystem is not for you.  Skip fast food and you'll fit in it fine.

If you're taking in less than 1,000 calories a day already, NutriSystem is not for you.

I may add to this as time goes on.

Day 10 - Correction on something

They're actually called Smart Carbs, but I'll stick with Super Carbs because they're yummy.
:-)

I had 2 medium eggs today and hummus.  I looked at my guide and they were supposed to be large eggs.  Yeah, no.  Plus, a couple baby carrots each time I walk by the fridge.

Just had my vanilla shake.

Activity today will be cleaning fans and the bathroom.

Lunch was tortilla soup.

Snack was almonds and bread.

Dinner is chicken swimming in a very mild BBQ sauce and baked beans.

I did not clean the fans and the bathroom.  I spent 15 minutes cleaning my microwave and fell asleep sitting on my sofa for about 30 minutes.  I haven't done that in a few weekends. Was outside 3 different times today reading or playing on my iPhone.

Since it's going to be in the high 70's this coming week - I'll plan on walking 30 minutes before work.

Evening snack was cheesy poofs and my v8.

Making my 2 cups of coffee to freeze for cubes (1 cup) and the rest to put in fridge overnight.  Tomorrow's stuff is packed except for a banana that I'll get on my walk.

Saturday, November 4, 2017

Day 9 NS

Breakfast was apple cinnamon oatmeal with 1/2 cup low fat milk.  Little chunks of apples made it extra yum.  They put them in, not me.  Another 1/2 cup low fat milk to wash it down and complete my power fuel requirement for the morning.

Vanilla shake a 10 then off to WalMart for groceries and wandering around for 30 minutes for my activity requirement.  :-)

Even with the meals prepared I still over think my choices.  I choose something with milk today and I'm leaving muffins and bars for work so I don't have to pack milk and worry about that container leaking.

3 meals a week I have to figure out on my own.  And not all 3 are to be eaten on the same day.  They get a little fancy in their suggestions - like a 1 egg omelet with veggies or something.  I'm not that ambitious.  It'll be a boiled egg and v8 for me.  :-p

Spent close to 45 minutes in WalMart.  Eggs, hummus, apples, almonds, V8, baby carrots, peanut butter, veggie burgers, and non-food-related wipes.  $45 - Good Lord, eating healthy is expensive.  That will last me at least 2 weeks though.

Going to sit outside in a bit and read.

Lunch was spicy noodles.  They were yum.  :-)

Afternoon snack was a banana and almonds.

Dinner was a veggie burger, a slice of whole grain bread and a cup of milk.  Veggie burgers are pretty spicy to me, so that's why I planned milk as my 2nd PF.  This was my first non-NS meal.

Tomorrow's will be breakfast - 2 eggs and hummus.

Evening snack was popcorn.

Friday, November 3, 2017

Day 8 - Power Fuels and Super Carbs

Had to stop at the gas station on the way to work and get almonds and a banana.  Forgot to get baby carrots so my veggie servings will be tonight.

Breakfast was cereal!  With milk!  (milk not provided)

The vanilla shake is so friggin good!!  I always mix it with decaf instead of water.

Lunch was tuna salad and a slice of whole grain bread.  It was delicious.

Snack was 1/4 cup almonds and 1 slice whole grain bread.
The store didn't have any unsalted.  I prefer unsalted so it was a little slow eating those.

Dinner was meatloaf with mashed potatoes buried in gravy.  I threw broccolis in there to be able to eat all the gravy.  :-)
I'm also supposed to have some type of power fuel (PF), but got my nails done instead of grocery shopping.

Evening snack was a chocolatey pretzel bar.  It was very yummy!

I also walked around the building twice on my morning break and 3 times in the afternoon.  I still have 10 more minutes of 'activity' to do today.

I feel full.  That's what's so fantastic about this.  When I am hungry I usually eat a baby carrot or piece of broccoli and that's enough to keep me content till my next meal.

Tomorrow I'll be shopping for eggs, bananas, v8, almonds, and a few other items.

I've stopped doing the nutrition stuff for each meal.  Feel free to comment if you want me to start doing that again.

NS - Day 7 New Eating Habits!

Today's breakfast was a chocolate chip baked bar.
It tasted ok.  Not as great as yesterday's double chocolate muffin!  :-)
150 Calories
4.5g Fat
5g Fiber
5g Protein
25g Carbs

I also had a baby carrot right when I got to work.

I forgot my coffee ice cubes and cold coffee from home.  But I had also forgotten my shake tumbler here at work.  So I just put decaf and some regular ice cubes in it to prepare for my 10 o'clock shake.

I bought fizzy water last night and low sodium v8.  Black cherry dragonfruit from Aquafina is pretty good.  I could actually do without the carbonation.

Lunch - 3 cheese chicken pasta
200 Calories
4.5g fat
4g fiber
10g protein
31g carbs

Saltier than I prefer, but still good.
Dinner - Italian herb flatbread pizza (some assembly required)
260 Calories
8g Fat
2g Fiber
11g Protein
34g Carbs

Tomorrow is a new beginning in my eating habits!

I get to add an egg or almonds (there's a whole list) to my breakfast.
Turbo Shake next week is vanilla.
Lunch no extra stuff
Snack I'm on my own for that.  Tomorrow will be a slice of whole grain bread and almonds.
Still taking in 4 servings of veggies a day.
And I add 30 minutes of 'activity'.  So I'll be walking circles around the building for 1/2 of my lunch until summer hits.  Then my walk will be in the morning since I get there an hour early anyway.

Very exciting stuff!

Double chocolate muffin
170 Calories
5g Fat

7g Protein
28g Carbs

I left my ice coffee (decaf) in the car that I mix with my shake.  I'll get it eventually.  Don't need it till 10 or so.

Chocolate peanut butter bar for lunch.  It's ok, but not fantastic.
200 Calories
8g Fat
5g Fiber
11g Protein

Then my regular snack bar at around 3 or so.

I'm so excited right now, but nervous too.  I think I've lost weight because 2 things that felt tight on me before feel a little less snug.  I'm stopping off at my doctor's after work to weigh myself.  After 6 days I'd be happy with a 1 pound loss.  Even though I wish it was closer to 5.  :-)

Dinner was hearty beef stew.  Very tasty!
150 Calories
3.5g Fat
2g Fiber
14g Protein
17g Carbs

I also went to my doctor's and weighed myself on my way home.  I almost cried when I looked at the scale.

I weigh 243!!!
That's an 8 pound loss since they saw me in mid October.

Hurray!

Dogs Updates

Cesar at 14 is doing well.  He's got a definite limp/swagger when he walks.  That has to do with the herniated disk in his back - I thin...
