It all started with a crack

I've hated my bathtub since the first time I tried to take a bubble bath.  Either my boobs up are exposed or if a squinch down, most of my legs are exposed.

I kept telling myself I'd eventually get rid of it and replace it with a shower.

Then one night I step the wrong way and crack the tub.

So in February it got taken out.  It was a shell tub meant to go over an older porcelain- type tub.  But there wasn't anything under the shell which is why it eventually cracked.

Due to tile guy #1 deciding he had better things to do than deal with my shower, 2 months later - I'm finally seeing a possible end to not having a shower in my own house!

The bathroom floor will also be retiled.  But I'm going to ask my tile guy to please let me have my shower for at least a day before the bathroom floor gets removed.

See photos below.  :-)

The lip got removed because I didn't like it.  :-)

Straightening My Teeth with Candid - 9th Update 5/18/2019

First - they sent me 3 bottom molds and 2 top molds, when I was supposed to get 2 bottom and 3 top.  I made it work, but we'll see what they say about that.

Second - the pokey thing was a friggin toothpick!  Here I thought it was going to be a decent size stick.  Pfft

The photos sucked.  I have a headache on top of my normal headache.  And they probably will make me retake them because my phone didn't flash.

When taking the putty out of the containers - squeeze around the container like you squeeze around a pot to get a plant out.  Then reach in with your finger to get the putty out.  Don't rush!  It took me more than 30 seconds to mix the 2 together and it still worked fine.

Photos get uploaded to their website and the molds will get mailed tomorrow.  While I was typing that I got an email from Candid stating my photos would be looked at within 24 hours to let me know if I needed to resend new ones.  :-)

I'll put some of the photos below so you have a before and then, hopefully, in 6 months I'll be able to take photos of a wonderful after!

That front tooth doesn't look bad.  But it's annoying.  And if you look at all 4 front teeth, they are definitely being pushed and shifting.

3 teeth in the front have always been crowded.  And the one on my right of my 2 front teeth even hurts sometimes when it's shifted.

My goal is to get the top front teeth straight and at the very least keep the bottom teeth from shifting any further.  But if they can straighten the bottom teeth even a little, I'll be very happy.

Just got the text that they approved my photos!  Woot!  I was surprised because online you can't see my top teeth in the top teeth photo.  LOL

4/2/19 Got an email that my molds had been picked up by the USPS!  Candid is keeping me very informed each step of the way.  :-)

4/4/19 Got a text that my molds have arrived!  Now an orthodontist evaluates them and fingers crossed they can make my aligners from them.  WOOT!

4/5/19 Last night I watched a few more videos on Smile Direct, Invisalign, and Candid.  I won't be able to drink as much coffee for the 6 months I have these.  The only thing that can be consumed when the aligners are in is water.  And the most they want you to have the aligners out is 2 hours a day total.  You have to brush and floss between every meal.

Am I going to start drinking more water now?  Heck no!  :-)

4/11/19 I got an email earlier this week that my photos had been approved by the orthodontist.  Now I wait '4 to 6 weeks' for information on my treatment plan.

SQUEE!!!
Email from Candid:
"Our team has completed a review of your impressions, now it's your othodontist's turn.  Once they've signed off, they'll get to work designing your treatment plan.

You're in the home stretch!  Treatment plan design usually takes about a week, but I'll be in touch if anything changes.  As always, feel free to email me with any questions."

4/26 I missed a couple updates.  I called Candid last week to ask what the hold up was.  They had to take pieces of my impressions to make one good impression.

Today I got an email saying my treatment plan was ready.  They did a digital rendering of how my teeth will be straightened over a 19 week period.  3 different views.  I’ll try to grab some screen shots this weekend when I’m on my PC instead of iPad.
*Correction 19 Steps, not weeks.

I’ll wear my aligners for 2 weeks, then switch to the next set.

The offered payment options or pay $1,900 all at once.  I went with the 6 month 0% interest option.  There were 2 other options, but both were at 24% interest.  Screw that nonsense!!

I should be getting my aligners in about 5 weeks.  I’m very excited because my bottom front teeth woke me up last night.

I also chatted online with one of their support folks.  I can drink my coffee with my aligners in, but he recommended using a straw to reduce the amount of staining.  And with these aligners you can eat with them in.  So you only take them out to brush your teeth.  I’ll give it a shot and let y’all know how that goes.  I have a feeling I won’t like it so much and will probably take them off to eat.  But we’ll see.

4/29 Chatted with a Candid Rep today.  My treatment is for 9 months.  The other reps were confusing me by saying 6 months, when 19 times 2 is closer to 10 months.  I'd rather have the process take longer.  Moving teeth hurts!  And my bottom ones have overlapped each other since I was a teenager.

I will be wearing each set of aligners for 2 weeks.

5/18 Got an email at 12:10 am that my aligners have been shipped.  They’re due to arrive on Monday by 8pm.  In the email it explains that you need to schedule a video appointment.  I figured I could schedule mine for Tuesday the 21st.  Candid is booked until the beginning of June!  So my first video appointment is June 4th at 5pm.  And, no, I’m not going to wait an additional 2 weeks to start using them.   That’s bullshit.

Dogs Updates

Cesar at 14 is doing well.  He's got a definite limp/swagger when he walks.  That has to do with the herniated disk in his back - I thin...
